Boston Scholars ProgramOpen doors through educational opportunity by providing scholarships/mentoring for low income youth to attend private schools City Mission Society of BostonProvide arts education and opportunities to inner-city youth to reinforce academic lessons CHILDREN'S LITERACY FOUNDATION (CLIF)Children's Literacy Foundation is dedicated to nurturing a love of reading and writing among children throughout New Hampshire and Vermont, particularly children in rural communities, and children who are at high risk of growing up functionally illiterate. CLIF supports children's literacy by awarding sponsorships to rural public libraries, homeless shelters, women's shelters, center for at-risk youth, and bookmobiles that serve children who have limited access to great books. Everybody WinsProvides a mentor from the business community to read to students during lunch John Andrew Mazie Memorial FoundationMentors high school students who need support to reach their full potential MARGARET FULLER NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSEFounded over a hundred years ago, the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House is a community-based organization helping needy families through direct services such as after-school programs and summer programs for children. Our grant will assist with scholarship funding for children aged five to eight from the neediest families to enable them to participate in the New Young Lenders Program. SALEM CYBERSPACESalem CyberSpace is a relatively new community-based organization focused on teaching computer and technology skills to low-income residents of the North Shore. Our grant is helping to fund CyberYouth, an innovative program for children that provides academic enrichment and technology activities, motivating students to be focused and confident learners as they explore technology and related careers. Strong Women, Strong GirlsProvide mentoring and after-school programming to girls in grades 3 - 5. |
