Connecting for Children's Charities 2008

Our fundraising event for 2008 is scheduled for Thursday, the 27th of March, 2008.   

We promise you a special evening of food, gaming, entertainment and networking with your colleagues in the technology community supporting children's charities including:

  • Casino Games
  • Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament
  • Cocktail Party and Dinner Food Stations
  • Silent Auction
  • Raffle
  • Entertainment by "Four Guys in Tuxes"  
  • Lifetime Charity Achievement Award

    We will be continuing with our online auction site to complement our onsite silent auction.  Please look for an email announcing the site shortly.  You can contribute an item to the auction using our donation link

    Innovation Philanthropist Award  

  • One of the evening highlights will be to present our Innovation Philanthropist and Charity Lifetime Achievement Awards.

    • The Innovation Philanthropist Award will be presented to the team of Jack and Shelly Blais, Mike and Maureen Champa, Roger Marino, Paul and Kathleen Severino, and Jim Dow and Lucille Zanghi for their innovative work with the Dana Farber thru their The High Technology Multi- Disciplinary Research Fund.
    • Our Charity Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Duncan McDougall of the Children's Literacy Foundation.

    The schedule for the evening is:

    • 4:00 - For registration and start of Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament in the Cambridge Room 
    • 5:30 - Cocktail Party and Silent Auction Begins in the Foyer to the Main Ballroom 
    • 7:00 - Casino Event and Dinner Food Stations Open in the Main Ballroom
    • 7:30 - Short Event Program
    • 7:45 - Casino and Dancing continues
    • 8:00 - Final Table for Card Tournament
    • 8:30 - Close of the Silent Auction
    • 9:30 - Announcement of the Poker Tournament and Raffle Winners
    • 10:00 - Close of the Event

    Given this year's theme, the recommended attire is Festive or Business. 

    This year's event is being held at the Westin Waltham Hotel in Waltham, MA. This hotel is a hub of the local technology community.

  • Over the past decade, the New England Technology Foundation has made a significant financial impact on the lives of thousands of children and their families through consistent contributions to the charities it supports.  For many of these non-profit organizations, the financial contribution from the NE Tech Foundation funds a significant portion of their budgets.   In both strong economic times and more challenging ones, it is important that the technology community comes together to help those less fortunate in our communities.

    This year's event committee chairpersons are:
